SCAC now has a mentoring program that pairs professional artists with students and other emerging artists in Shelburne County.
Our first project paired professional artist Dennis Teakle with student Braden Chetwynd (self-portrait, opposite). Dennis helped Braden put together his portfolio for application to a university fine arts program. With guidance from Denis, Braden developed certain skills required to develop a great portfolio. Braden was accepted. Mentorships can be as varied as the individuals interested in pursuing them. If you are interested in acting, if you dream of being a musician or photographer, if you need help with putting a portfolio of art together for an application to university or for a grant application, we can pair you with someone who can help. There is no application form or deadline for this program. If you think this program could help you for any reason by matching you with an experienced artist, author, actor or other arts professional, please write a letter to SCAC explaining your need.
